I’ve noticed Holiday Gift Guides popping up all over the internet this season. So I decided to make my own gift guide, with a unique little twist…

Everything on this list had to meet these qualifications:

a) Under $5

b) Can be purchased online

c) Educational

d) Arrives in time for Christmas

Some of you may think this is very unfestive (that’s not really a word) of me, but I’ve done my Christmas shopping online this year.  I’m guessing some of you busy mamas are doing the same thing, so if you’re a Christmas purist and have to do your shopping in a brick and mortar store, go you!  But for the rest of us Amazon Prime Moms, this list could be helpful!

I Spy Little Board Books

I noticed some of our favorites are on sale for under $5, including Animals and Letters. Kids as young as 2 can enjoy these! It is a very simplified version of the bigger “I Spy” books.

  3. I have to rethink stocking stuffers for my husband this year. Last year I put chocolate in his stocking and it melted because of the fire! Haha! Love the Lego pieces for my boys’ stockings!

  4. Thanks for the ideas! We don’t have much of a stocking stuffer tradition. (Though I usually find some office supplies in my stocking and I always love those.) My favorite Christmas tradition is eating fresh baked cinnamon rolls for breakfast and no I don’t make my own I just pull them out of the freezer and cook according to the directions. 🙂

    • Art supplies is a fun idea! The dollar is a great idea too. My kids love finding random coins to stash in their piggy banks, so I’m sure a dollar would thrill them. 😉

    • Yes! We got life saver books as kids too. Maybe it’s an Eddy thing? Was always my favorite thing in my stocking!!

  12. Love these ideas! Still get a stocking from my mom and it’s so fun! We always got a little candy and a new toothbrush every year plus fun stuff, a piece of jewelry, or new gloves, mints, a fancy/fun pair of socks…

I have a 19 month old and will definitely keep these in mind for next year and possibly his birthday:) This year, I decided to buy my 4 year old niece some workbooks like you posted. We found some at Ollie’s discount store for $.85 each. She was thrilled! Entered using #’s 1-3:)

  15. Stockings were always our favorite part of Christmas morning because we could open them before Mom and dad got up! My mom would fill it full of candy, sometimes a little present like jewelry, socks or slippers, hair ties, etc.

  17. We do the old fashioned tradition of a piece of fruit in the toe of the stocking! The kids love it! We also put practical things like socks, a new tooth brush etc in there too, along with candy and a small toy or two! I did numbers 1-4!

    • We always got fruit in the toe too! It’s so old-fashioned, and that’s what I love about it. Still gives me warm fuzzies! 😉
