Hey, it’s me, Liz! The author behind The Little Years Blog!!
Time for a quick update!
As you know, we have baby #4 on the way. The beginning of my pregnancy I was sick, sick, sick, but I pushed through and managed to keep up pretty well. Then I hit that middle stage of pregnancy where you start to feel GREAT! This was my downfall. I began taking on all these extra projects while I had this burst of energy! Instead of reading my own past blog articles about simplifying life, and taking some of my own advice, I just started saying “yes” to everything. Then hit the third stage of pregnancy, and all the stuff I had added into my life came crashing down. Oops! Way overbooked. What was I thinking?!
That’s when it got a little quiet here on the blog.
Oh yes! And then nesting began a couple weeks ago…and to make matters worse, I went to IKEA! Who else loves that store?? I went for a dresser that I actually needed, and I came back with a bookshelf…okay, 3 bookshelves, and a few more things. So, let’s just say my house is in the process of getting a little facelift.
All that to say, I’m getting caught up, revamping my to-do list, and getting back to what I really want to be doing!! So you’ll be hearing from me again, and I have some great guest posts coming up as well!

What goes on your “must-do” list before you have a new baby in the house?
Freezer meals? Deep clean the attic? Wash all the windows? Simply survive until the arrival of the new babe? (I definitely hit that phase with my last baby!) Stock up on diapers? Get out for a girl’s night? An extra date night with you husband, while you can still do it without a carseat in tow? Get a haircut?
I’d love to hear about what you like to have done in the comments!

June 4, 2017 at 7:42 pmWe just added baby #4 (and our oldest is 4 until September! No twins 😉) in April, so your recent stages of sickness, energy and nesting are VERY familiar! After having this baby, I was so thankful for freezer meals. I had prepped a few by making a few dinners twice as large and immediately freezing half. Then I was so thankful that a few ladies in the church provided easy to freeze meals for me. It was perfect! And so helpful, even several weeks out to have that option. Praying for you and baby!

June 4, 2017 at 10:48 pmLove the shelves!!! For me, I would always pack my bag super early and start getting my maternity wardrobe packed back away;) none of it really fit well during those last few weeks anyway;) I also tried to have a weeks worth of suppers in the freezer as well as a stock pile of essentials (trash bags, laundry soap, toiletries, etc) so I wouldn’t have to run to the store right away after baby arrived.

June 7, 2017 at 7:23 pmGreat advice! I need to pack away maternity clothes! It can be overwhelming afterwards to have so many sizes of clothes in the closet and dresser. Until I had kids I never realized how much a person could fluctuate in sizes over the course of a few weeks. lol!
