Here’s the thing with screen time—we all have a different amount that we allow in our homes. Some of you may not use a screen at all, others may use kids shows only on occasion, and still others use screens to entertain on a daily basis. This post is not about the affects of screen time. I’ll leave that up to each of you! 🙂
This is simply some suggestions of great children’s shows that I’ve found we like.
{All of these are found on Prime Video. If you don’t have an Amazon Prime membership you may still be able to find some of these elsewhere (youtube, Netflix, the library, etc).} Also of note, this is not a sponsored post, and I’m not receiving anything for the promotion of Amazon. You’ll notice all of the shows listed are free (for Prime Members) and this is on purpose.
What do I look for in kid’s shows? 1) Characters talk in happy (not whiny) voices. 2) Characters respect their parents. 3) They use good vocabulary. 4) The characters are kind and inclusive.
There are a surprising amount of children’s movies and shows that display all kinds of behaviors we don’t want our kids copying, BUT there are also some adorable cartoons where the characters are sweet and kind. Here are a few of our favorites:
1. “Guess How Much I Love You”
This series features the characters from the classic book. They are cheerful and cute! Each episode is two short stories, which is nice if you like to limit screen time to just a few minutes.

2. “Kipper”
I can’t remember how we came across Kipper, but he’s a lovable dog having adventures with his friends. My kids have enjoyed these! Click here: Kipper

There are three seasons of this available for free with Prime, plus there’s “If You Give a Mouse a Christmas Cookie” which you can find by clicking here: Christmas Cookie
We love the book series and the show!
NOTE: This is a Prime Original Series, so I don’t think you will find this one outside of Amazon.
